Here at Lamonster Garage we test the product before we stock or sell it. This is a product that I’ve been testing for a few months now and I get a big smile on my face every time I use it. It had the best reviews and we were able to deal directly with the manufacturer.
We have a big air compressor here at the shop and we use it for our air tools and other things but now we use this little hand held compressor more than ever. The reason is it’s just so nice to punch in the psi you want and the pump shuts off at that psi. For the fronts on the Spyder I run between 18psi and 20psi. Normally I’ll set the pump at 19psi and call it good. You may lose .5 lbs taking off the hose but when the tire gets warm it will gain some air. The pump itself can be used as a air pressure gauge or if you’re like me you can read your Fobo’s to see what the end pressure is. For the rear I’ll set the pressure around 28psi and call it good. We had to have a special hose setup made so it would work on the valve on the rear of the Spyder. The one they sent with the kit had a 90 degree valve and that just won’t work on the Spyder, especially the F3 with the larger rear pulley. I even use it to pump up the rear airbag on the F3-T. That was always a pain before because the bag is so small. I have never had to add air or take out air from what I set the pump at. That’s a big time saver for sure.
The pump itself uses a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery,it can pump the tire without connecting external power cord. I’ve used the corded 12V air packs but their just too much hassle for me. Nobody likes checking air but if you’re going to check it why not put in what you need if it’s low. This is a must have for road trips and works well with all the other products we recommend for a safe carefree road trip.
The unit itself weighs about a pound and takes up very little room. It’s under 8″ long and about 2″ wide. It comes with a great little travel bag that will fit all your air adapters and the 12V DC charger and a US wall charger. It takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge a dead unit. When I was adding the Lamonster approved tire sealant I was able to fill two front tires that had no air in them and top off several others before needing to charge the unit. It took right around 3 min. to inflate one front Spyder tire that had no air. You can hook it up and walk away as it will shut off at the desired pressure.
